SUMMARY:Lõunapoolkera Lugemisklubi – Lilli Luuk Zoomis!
DESCRIPTION:Lõunapoolkera Lugemisklubi – Lilli Luuk Zoomis! 2023. aastal sai Luuk Loomingu aastapreemia novelli „Mäed“ eest. Luugi esimene romaan „Minu venna keha“ võitis 2022. aastal ajalooliste romaanide võistlusel III koha\, nomineeriti Tammsaare kirjandusauhinnale ning 2023. aastal pälvis Luuk sama teosega aasta kirjaniku tiitli. „Ööema“ on Luugi teine romaan.

SUMMARY:„Eesti Keel algaja" | Estonian Language Classes (Beginners)
DESCRIPTION:You might have heard the joke “Estonian has no sex and no future” before\, referring of course to the fact that there are no genders and no future tense in the Estonian language. With 8 dialects and 117 subdialects\, and 14 different case forms it can be quite a daunting task to learn on your own but the pay off is rewarding! To help you join over 1 million Estonian speakers (and 5 million Finns)\, we have dedicated beginners Estonian classes every Wednesday hosted by Maris Saar\, a professional teacher who will guide you in the process. \nClasses are held every Wednesday from 6:45-8:15pm at Estonian House and new learners are always welcome! Please note some classes may be held over Zoom. Do not hesitate to contact Maris on marissaar@hotmail.com for any questions or inquiries.

SUMMARY:„Eesti Arhiiv" | Estonian Archives in Australia (EAA)
DESCRIPTION:The Estonian Archives in Australia (EAA) was established by the Council of Estonian Societies in Australia on 5 January 1952. The first archivist was Alexander Peel\, a year later Dr Hugo Salasoo was appointed as the archivist\, a position he held for nearly 40 years. He was succeeded by his son\, Dr Inno Salasoo. In 1994\, following the move of the archive from Dr Salasoo’s house\, Maie Barrow was appointed as the archivist. EAA is one of the three big Estonian Archives existing outside Estonia and holds an important collection of material relating to the lives and achievements of Estonians living in Australia. Terry Kass is the current Archivist. \nSince 1994 the Archive has been housed in Estonian House\, 141 Campbell St\, Surry Hills\, not far from the centre of Sydney. EAA is funded for day to day expenses by the Council of Estonian Societies\, the parent body for Estonian organisations in Australia and by donations from the public. The Archive is now located downstairs on the lower ground floor of Sydney Estonian House and is facilitated by grants from the ECFA and the Sydney Estonian Co-op. \nThe archive during normal operating hours is open Thursdays 10am to 3pm \nArchives contact: archives@eesti.org.au

SUMMARY:Eesti Vabariigi iseseisvuspäeva aktus - Estonian Independence Day concert
DESCRIPTION:Tule tähistama Eesti Vabariigi sünnipäeva Eesti Majja! \nEesti Vabariigi sünnipäev on 24. veebruaril — päev\, mil 1918. aastal loeti ette „Manifest kõigile Eestimaa rahvastele“ ja kuulutati välja iseseisev Eesti riik. See oli hetk\, mil meie rahvas sai seista oma jalgadel ja maailm kuulis esimest korda vaba Eesti häält.\nKuigi eestlased\, meie keel ja kombed on siin maal elanud juba tuhandeid aastaid\, tähistab see päev meie tänapäevase riigi sündi — vabaduse\, visaduse ja eestluse vaimu võitu.\n Meie koguneme pidutsema juba 22. veebruaril Eesti Majas! Tule tähistama koos meiega\, heisakem sinimustvalge\, naudime head seltskonda\, muusikat\, traditsioonilisi maitseid ja ühist rõõmu.\nElagu Eesti! \n\nRegister here:  https://www.trybooking.com/DHCNM\n\n\n Come Celebrate Estonia’s Independence Day at Eesti Maja! \nEstonia’s Independence Day is on 24 February — the day in 1918 when the “Manifesto to the Peoples of Estonia” was proclaimed and the independent Republic of Estonia was born. It was the moment our nation stood on its own feet and the world first heard the voice of a free Estonia.\nAlthough Estonians\, our language\, and our traditions have lived on this land for thousands of years\, this day marks the birth of our modern state — a celebration of freedom\, resilience\, and the enduring Estonian spirit.\n We’ll be gathering to celebrate a little earlier — on 22 February at Eesti Maja!Join us as we raise the blue\, black\, and white\, enjoy good company\, music\, traditional food\, and the joy of being together.\nElagu Eesti! Long live Estonia! \nSun 22 Feb 2026 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM (UTC+11)\n\nRegister here:  https://www.trybooking.com/DHCNM
